Ideogram: is it worth paying for?
Links on this page go to the company's own website. We do not currently earn from them. If that changes, this page will say "Ad" here and beside the link.
In short
An AI image generator best known for putting readable text inside images, such as posters and logos. It has a free tier, so try that first.
What it costs (unconfirmed)
- Free: sources give different daily or weekly allowances, and say free images are public. Check before using for anything private.
- Paid: the Ideogram docs list Basic $8, Plus $20 and Pro $60 a month. One May 2026 review says Basic is closed to new buyers and yearly billing lowers Plus to about $15.
- Commercial use: sources conflict on whether free and lower plans include it. Read Ideogram's terms before selling anything you make.
Suits
Anyone making graphics where words must be spelled right. Alternatives: Canva, Adobe Firefly.
Does not suit
People who need private images on the free plan.
